Modern Languages

At Mithian School, it is our intent to provide all of our children with a high-quality education in Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), which develops their love of learning about other languages and cultures.

We aim to introduce the learning of the French language and the understanding of its culture in enjoyable and stimulating ways. We hope to embed the essential skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing in French. It is our intention that by the end of our children’s primary education, they have acquired an early understanding of both spoken and written French, the confidence to speak in French with others, and the knowledge of how important other languages can be in their future.

We further inspire to increase children’s understanding and communicating with different people and cultures. We aim to foster in children an outward looking perspective on the world, and for them to see themselves as global citizens.
